Department: | Behavior Technician |
Location: | Derby, KS |
Looking for a job where you can make a real difference every day? As a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) at KBS, you’ll be in the trenches, working directly with individuals to help them build new skills and overcome challenges. Whether you’re teaching a child with autism how to communicate, or helping an young adult develop life skills, your role will be all about creating change in people’s lives—and seeing that change firsthand.
You’ll be using Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) techniques, following the plans set by experienced professionals (BCBAs), and directly contributing to the growth and success of your clients. If you're looking for a job that’s not just about punching the clock, but one that keeps you engaged and constantly learning, this is a role you’ll want to check out.
Getting Hands-On with Clients:
This isn’t a desk job. You’ll be working directly with clients—whether in their homes, schools, or the community—using ABA techniques to help them develop important skills like socializing, communication, or self-care. You'll be in the field, making a difference day in and day out.
Tracking Progress & Adjusting on the Fly:
You’ll be the eyes and ears on the ground, collecting data on how well clients are doing with their behavior plans. The better the data you collect, the better you can help your supervisor make adjustments to keep things on track. This is where your attention to detail and problem-solving will shine.
Making Skills Stick:
It's all about helping people improve. Whether it's teaching a child to ask for help or working with an adult on life skills, you’ll be using ABA strategies to help your clients gain new abilities that will benefit them long-term.
Teamwork:
You'll be working closely with BCBAs and other team members to make sure the therapy is consistent and effective. You’ll be part of a team, but you’ll also have the independence to take charge and handle situations as they come up.
Problem-Solving in Real-Time:
There will be challenges—especially when working with clients with behavioral issues. You’ll need to stay cool under pressure, think on your feet, and use your training to de-escalate situations when needed.
